RECHARGE Wind Power Summit 2025 powered by WindEnergy Hamburg: Industry’s new top event to launch in Hamburg

The global wind energy industry is at a turning point. Geopolitical developments, a changing policy landscape, and rising costs are confronting the sector with complex tasks and challenges, while at the same time opening up new opportunities for innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth. At the RECHARGE Wind Power Summit, for the first time held at the CCH – Congress Center Hamburg on 27 November 2025, leading industry experts and decision-makers will discuss how the industry can continue to build and defend its position in the coming decades.

The growth rate is intact, but the challenges are growing. According to the latest Global Wind Report published by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), 2024 was a record year for the industry: the global installed capacity increased by 117 gigawatts. While forecasting annual growth rates of 8.8 per cent up until 2030, GWEC has identified major risks for the sector, as well, from political opposition stirred up by populist-leaning governments to supply chain disruption caused by trade conflicts. This means there is a concrete and urgent need to take action and intensify the dialogue to strengthen wind energy as a central pillar of the global energy transition.

Major players to gather in the industry metropolis

It is just the right place at the right time: On 27 November 2025, leading industry representatives and political decision-makers, innovators and financing partners will meet at the CCH – Congress Center Hamburg for the RECHARGE Wind Power Summit 2025. With this event, Hamburg once more underpins its role as the world capital of wind energy: this is where WindEnergy Hamburg, the world’s leading wind industry fair, takes place every two years, flanked by two other top-ranking events focused on the energy transition, SMM and the Hydrogen Technology Expo. Hamburg is the centre of a powerful network: Northern Germany and neighbouring Denmark are among Europe’s leading offshore and onshore wind energy regions where numerous major market players are headquartered.

Eliminating hurdles, driving innovation

“At the only international conference and exhibition during the second half of the year, we are bringing together key players of global wind energy to address the industry’s current pressing topics,” says Andrew Lee, Corporate Power Editor of the renowned industry publication RECHARGE. Jointly with his team of experts, he is in charge of setting the strategic direction of the event.

Close collaboration is key to keeping wind energy on the road to success, they say. The RECHARGE Wind Power Summit provides an ideal platform to achieve this. The programme comprises three sessions featuring top-flight speakers:

  • Geopolitical challenges: What can be done when protectionism increases the cost of projects? What can be done to overcome permitting and grid intertie issues? What is China’s role: key market player or economic and political risk factor?

  • The next evolutionary step: What game-changing innovations have the potential to take the industry to the next level?

  • Protecting installations: As critical infrastructure, wind energy is subject to multiple threats – both physical and in the form of cyberattacks. How can wind farms and the security of energy systems be protected effectively?

  • Wind power’s big wake-up call: An expert panel discusses wind wakes, the phenomenon forcing the industry to ask new questions about its implications for existing and future projects.

A platform for lively dialogue

These are just some of the key topics that will be addressed by keynote speakers and discussion panels in Hamburg. The summit and its unique atmosphere will provide participants with perfect conditions for knowledge transfer and networking. As experienced partners, RECHARGE and WindEnergy Hamburg will ensure smooth execution, a captivating conference experience, and professional event marketing: “We are looking forward to welcoming a select group of exhibiting companies who will take the opportunity of the RECHARGE Wind Power Summit at the state-of-the-art CCH to present their solutions to the questions of the future,” says Claus Ulrich Selbach, Vice President Exhibitions at Hamburg Messe und Congress. Sponsors will be able to place their messages directly with the industry’s decision-makers during the event.
