New date: WindEnergy Hamburg will take place from 1 - 4 December 2020

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and its global restrictions on major events and international travel, WINDENERGY HAMBURG has been postponed to 1 – 4 DECEMBER 2020.

We are aware that you may have questions regarding your participation at WindEnergy Hamburg. In our FAQs, we inform you about important details.

Danish Wind Export & Pavilion of Denmark is supporting the postponement of WindEnergy Hamburg 2020 and will work Hamburg Messe, WindEurope and the other exhibitors to prepare a safe Windenergy show for December.

Søren Bomholt Rasmussen – Managing Director, Danish Wind Export Association

WindEnergy Hamburg is the flagship fair of our industry. A strong show at the end of the year will send a signal of confidence and trust. Our sector will demonstrate how it can contribute to the recovery of the world economy as well as the protection of the earth's climate.

Hermann Albers – President, German Wind Energy Association

WindEnergy Hamburg is the worldwide platform for wind energy. The markets are bouncing back and we see that sustainable economic impulses are in demand. This is where WindEnergy Hamburg offers the right offer at the right time in December.

New focal topics and insights at Windenergy Hamburg 2020

Hamburg Messe and Congress and WindEurope proudly present a new conference concept:

  • In Room Chicago, the high-level conference will look at the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition to a 100%-renewables-based energy system. We will discuss what needs to happen in the next decade to harness the full potential of wind power and build broad alliances to achieve climate-neutrality by 2050. The high-level conference will be more focused, with no parallel sessions and feature new formats (townhalls, deep-dives…) to increase audience engagement and interactivity for a brand new experience.
  • Electrification, Energy Storage and Power-to-X solutions will feature prominently as the missing link to succeed in the energy transition. Exhibition hall B7 will provide the “H2Insights” networking area and the “Power4Climate” stage featuring groundbreaking discussions with experts exploring future-ready solutions and business models.
  • People will be the main focus of a dedicated stage in Hall A4: “Empowering People Insights“. Topics will cover safety, cyber security and digitalisation, community engagement, jobs and skills.
  • The "Global Business Insights Stage" in Hall B1 will be organised in collaboration with GWEC, the Global Wind Energy Council. Participants will hear about market developments worldwide in a series of sessions dedicated to finance, investments and cooperation arrangements, presented by key business and political stakeholders.

Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) Update

Status: 05 July 2020

The rules imposed to slow the spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) have far-reaching consequences for Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. For various reasons, many events planned cannot be held as intended.

The health of our exhibitors, visitors and employees continues to be our highest priority. We therefore welcome and support all suitable measures to stem the spread of this pandemic.

In the meantime we are working enthusiastically on the preparation of future events. We are very much looking forward to staging these events together with you at the Hamburg exhibition complex and the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg in the not-too-distant future.

Until then, be sure to protect your health!
